staff registration
Dear future (or current) staffer:
We rejoice that you want to make this commitment to be a part of our 6th annual St. Arseny’s Summer Camp! St. Arseny’s camp board has been busily preparing in order to insure a safe, spiritual and joyful experience.
If you are applying for the first time to be staff at our camp, please review the criteria that we use when choosing our staff by clicking here.
If you are wondering what we expect from our staff at camp, check out this link for the answers.
Of course, camp is fun, but it is our responsibility to ensure that it is safe too, which is why we have to make sure that all staff have criminal record checks (free if you give the police station nearest you the letter provided), and other documentation. So, after filling out the application below, go ahead and get that check done. After your file has been processed, one of the Camp Directors will contact you to let you know more.
Go ahead and apply! We can’t wait to have fun with you this summer. Glory to God!
Please READ the following information BEFORE completing and sending this form.
NOTE #1 – Criminal Record Check
A criminal record check is required for all staff volunteering at camp.
• Please click here for a copy of our Criminal Record Check Letter. This letter will indicate to the RCMP that you are volunteering in a not-for-profit organization, which will allow you to obtain the record check free of charge.
• The criminal record check is completed in TWO parts. The first form (Criminal Record Check – Part 1) is a standard criminal record check. The second form (Criminal Record Check – Part 2) is more specific to those offences involving children. Please note that in Part 2 of the first form you will need the following information:
Graham Stobbe
Camp Director
St. Arseny Orthodox Youth Camp
#3 – 4365 Wilkinson Road
Victoria, BC V8Z 5B8
NOTE #2 – Sexual Harassment Guidelines and Acknowledgement
As part of OCA policy, and responsible youth ministry, all staff volunteering at St. Arseny Orthodox Youth Camp are required to read the Policies, Standards, and Procedures of the Orthodox Church in America on Sexual Misconduct, and to sign an acknowledgement attesting to such. A copy of the letter acknowledging these Policies can be found here: Camp Sexual Harassment Policy Acknowledgement.
NOTE #3 – Driving Record
As part of OCA policy, and responsible youth ministry, all staff volunteering at St. Arseny Orthodox Youth Camp that may be required to transport youth during the course of their camp duties are required to produce a recent driving record, in the form of a government-issued Driver’s Abstract. The Abstract can be obtained from any provincial government agency for a minimal cost (usually $10 or less). The cost is reimbursable, or a tax-deductible receipt can be issued.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
